So we didn't actually eat her cake until the next day because my brother came in town and we went down to the Riverwalk to hang out with him. Brian worked the next day, so we didn't get around to eating cake until abou 8pm, hence the screeching!

Did I ever blog about Easter?

 Seriously, did I ever blog about it? If not, here's the two measly pictures I have to document it! Brian worked Easter (of course, because he's worked every major/minor holiday since we've moved here), so the kids and I packed it up and went over to the Hillman's house! Thank goodness for good friends that become your family when you don't live close enough to anyone BLOOD related! So, ours was very low key, which is maybe why I didn't blog about it? There were no Easter Egg hunts (I was working that day), just good old fashioned egg decorating, and Easter basket fun! I don't know what my problem's been lately, but I've had a huge lack of motivation when it comes to anything! Blogging

and anything internet related has definitely been put on the back burner. Although, I have been using my kindle a lot lately and enjoying reading again...I'd forgotten how much I missed it!

Anyway, that was our Easter...wow, I need to be better at this!

A day at the zoo

I LOVE having season passes to the zoo! We try to go at least once a month (which, lets be honest is a lot harder to do now that it's getting hotter)...we didn't make it in May, which I guess we could still make it there if we try.

Landen loves it too, and now that Abrie's a little older, I'm sure she'll love the children's area (including a little "beach") and the petting zoo.

These monkey's crack me up, every time we go to see them, they come right up to the window to say "hey". There's even a cute little baby one that loves to snuggle with his mommy...melt my heart.

Overdue for some updates!

I'm going to try and be more diligent about updating on here...especially since I'm horrible at journaling! So, here's a Girl's Camp update from March.

I could not believe all the fun activities that they had for these girls to do (besides all the wonderful certifications ;). All the leaders kept saying "man, I wish we could have had a girl's camp like this". I loved girl's camp growing up, but we never did anything like this! There's pros and con's to both, but I'm just glad that I get to still go and play at girl's camp. Here's some of the activities:

 Archery, they even let me have a chance at this too!

 An awesome swimming pool with slides...it was still kinda cold this week, high 70's low 80's so it was a bit cold when they got out of the pool.

 Of course what is camp without crafts? These girls are making pillow cases. My favorite was the magnets made out of bottle caps!

 Zip line. They also had a ropes course that was so fun, and what we called the "leap of faith", where you climbed a large power line type pole and lept off it to grab a trapeze! Oh, and there was a rock climbing wall too...not sure why I didn't post a picture of that!

 The first night, the 4th year's camped out in tents on the other end of the lake, and canoed back to our camp in the morning. This is them coming in and us trying to welcome them by singing "Row row row your boat"

 Game night of "minute to win it" in the mess hall...by the way, the camp provided and prepared all the food for us and the counselors that were there. So yummy!

 The theme for camp was the same as this year's theme for Young Women's: "Arise and Shine Forth". All the girls got a balloon with a light in it, and we strung them up the flag pole at night while singing the camp song "Arise and Shine Forth". It was very beautiful.

All of us minus me on testimony night (the bishop's there too). It was very touching, and hands down my favorite part of camp! We had a girl with us that was not a member of the church, but is now taking missionary discussions. Her testimony she shared that night definitely affected a lot of people, not just the girls!

It was such a blast, and as much as I missed my "babies", it was also nice to not have to change a diaper or cook any meals for a week ;)

Moms

My mom is amazing, seriously! I know most everyone could say that about their mom, but mine is definitely the best! She is the nicest person I know and the epitome of feminine. Even her toots are dainty (she's gonna kill me for posting that).

I was lucky enough to have my mom come out and watch the kids and take care of Brian ;) while I was away at girls camp. She spoiled them rotten. Landen's still asking why we can't move to Utah to be closer to grandma's, and that he's done with Texas...kinda breaks my heart, but I love it at the same time.

We finally made it to the Alamo (since moving here 7 months ago, now 8) with her. She loves history and just ate up the whole experience. Landen and Abrie didn't do half bad either. We went to the Riverwalk afterwards and had dinner and were serenaded by a mariachi band!

I'm so glad I got to spend some time with my mom, and more importantly that the kids did!
