The Crib

Brian had been itching for something to put together for the baby, so we went and got our crib. We also have the changing table, but that's not put together yet. We need to start clearing more stuff out of that room before we put more stuff in it, but here's a picture with Brian and his finished project....I love the crib!

BJ and fireworks aren't a good combination!

So we had fireworks the other night in the park right by our house for the opening of the new part of the hospital. Needless to say, BJ wasn't a fan. At first he ran towards the back of the house to get away, then to Brian in computer room, then he decided to run out the front door, because it was definately quieter out there! So as Brian is trying to chase him around the block at full speed, I go grab the keys and jump in the car. By the time I start backing out of the driveway, BJ is on his second lap around the block (mind you he's sprinting in the middle of the road). He finally gave up and went to hide out under the neighbor's trailer. Well, come to find out, the reason why he was hiding under the trailer was because he hurt himself.

By the time we had pulled him out from under the trailer and got him inside, his poor paws were all bloody and raw from his run. We ended up having to cut away skin, and his nails were worn down to the root. Poor buddy! We've been trying to mend him with changing his dressings on his paws and giving him some tylenol for pain, but he's still limping around the house. I am amazed at how quickly he has been healing though. So, enjoy some pictures below!

An unhappy dog after his dressings were changed.

Contemplating going outside with sore feet.

We ended up buying some socks to put over his dressings to try and keep them clean and so that he would leave them alone better.

2nd Trimester and another appointment

So I went in for another checkup today, and of course was due for my lovely yearly woman's exam. All I have to say is that men sure have it easy! Other than that, it was great hearing the baby's heartbeat again, especially since I've had horrible feelings of doom (for a lack of a better way to describe it) about miscarrying and just not knowing it yet. I've been hearing too many stories of miscarriages lately, and taking care of too many women that have come in for D and C's. So, my mind can rest at ease for another 4 weeks. I think once I actually feel the baby start moving...and recognizing it as movement, it might be a little easier to believe everything is OK. Who knew I would become such a worry wart!

Nice Day

Saturday was so beautiful (about 65 degrees), we decided to take advantage of it and go on a picnic to the park with Liz and her friend Todd. Of course we brought BJ along and wore him out. It was just really nice to be outside for a change!

Brian & BJ. BJ was a little worn out at this point!

Earlier in the week it had been like this. It's kind of hard to see, but those are snowflakes falling. Yes, we're still getting our weekly snow-fall!

BJ antics

We love our BJ. He always keeps us laughing and on our toes. He's seriously like having a toddler run around the house. I thought I'd post some of his funnier moments.

Wrestling with Brian, one of his favorite things to do!
I think Brian won...this round anyway!
Chillin at the park. We're afraid to let him go because he loves to chase people too much!
Did I mention he's a ham and loves to have his picture taken? If you have a camera in your hands, he'll look right at you and pose, especially if you say "cheese" which is probably his favorite food!
He loves to help "make" dinner. He's especially good at cleaning up after us. The best pre-washer we ever invested in!
