Trip to Boise

So, amazingly, I had 5 days off in a row, and instead of spending them home alone, I went out to spend time with my brother and his family in Boise, with the hopes of getting a chance to see Brian. It paid off! I was able to pick him up on my way in town and spend the evening with him before dropping him back off by 9pm that night. I also got a surprise when he called me the next morning to come and pick him up to spend the day with him from 11am to 7pm that night! It was more than I had expected, so I was grateful. It was fun seeing all the nieces and nephew too. BJ and Kaden are the best of buds. Kaden was actually able to wear BJ out...which has never happened. They were so cute together. They disappeared outside for awhile one of the days I was out there and when they came back in they were soaked...we'll never know why, but I would have loved to have been somewhere to witness their fun.

Yeah for self portraits, at least our heads didn't get cut off!

Oh, and to conclude this little adventure, Brian was able to come home early. He'd left the car parked down by the park, so when I came home, and he was hiding, I didn't realize it right away. I did have my clues though. When I first walked in the door, the TV was on, and I know I didn't turn that on before I left for work that morning, but I just assumed that BJ could have stepped on the remote and turned it on. Secondly, the kitchen light was on, but I figured if BJ was bored enough, he could have jumped up on the wall and turned it on. After all, he has learned how to open the gate in the back yard, and open the front screen door! The thing that started to get me concerned that someone was or had been in the house was when I walked by the laundry room and the cupboards were open...there's no way BJ could have done that! So, just as the panic is starting the set in, Brian jumps around the corner and almost put me in pre-term labor. It was so good to have him home a day early though, and it's been great having him home since. Now he's reading over my shoulder so I can't be gooey anymore.

All by myself...

...don't wanna be! So, Brian left for drill out in Boise on Monday (the 4th) and won't be back until the 22nd. That leaves just me and BJ at home. I'm glad I at least have him and work 3 days a week to pre-occupy my time. Other than that, things get a little creepy at night. Oh, and I've been having huge feelings of guilt leaving BJ home alone while I'm at work for 12 hours. Brian was able to get a dog door in before he left, so he can come and go as he pleases, it's just that he's such a social dog that he's probably depressed all day. When I come home he's literally jumping up and down...poor pup. I know I'm pathetic! I can only imagine what it will be like to leave the baby and go back to work, but at least someone will be with him the whole time. But, I'm trying to keep busy. There's 5 girls due this month in my ward, so I'm trying to get stuff prepared for that, and I will have 5 days off in a row starting next week, so I'm probably going to drive out to Boise and see my bro and his family and hope to get a chance to see Brian...no garauntees though...yeah for military training! Anyway, off to the doctor....

10 Things I love

So, my Mamy (Amy to the rest of the world), tagged me...which is a first, so thanks! Anywho, the purpose of this, as the title indicates, is to list 10 things that I love. So, here it goes:

1. My husband. This is probably a duh statement, and even though I tell him everyday that I love him, it's always good that everyone else knows that too. He's such a hard worker and is so concerned already about his unborn son that it makes me kind of teary at times (and it doesn't matter that I cry a lot anyway!).

2. My BJ. I never would have thought that I would love a dog so much! He always keeps us laughing and entertained, and he's such a snuggle bug.

3. Reading a good book. It really doesn't take much to entertain me, but I love reading and getting sucked into another world. It's sometimes really hard to pull me out of it.

4. Thunderstorms. I miss them greatly! Living in Rexburg, we're lucky if we get any rain...but it sure loves to snow!

5. Kansas City. My home. I miss so much about it...the culture, the shopping, the restaurants and of course family and friends!

6. Food. Sadly, there's very few foods I don't enjoy, and I love trying new ones.

7. Traveling. I love discovering all the different cultures and lifestyles to be found all around the world.

8. Cute little old people. These are my favorites to take care of in the hospital. You can learn so much from them, and they have the best sense of humor!

9. The temple. I especially love having a temple about 5 minutes away. It's always a nice break to go and just "be".

10 Sleeping in. This means something a little differently to me probably than most because anything past 5:00 am is sleeping in, but I just love being able to wake up when I want to and not when the alarm tells me I need to.
