Hope!

Maybe this is a little premature to be talking about this and I'm going to jinx myself (heck no I'm not pregnant!), but my little man slept for 10 hours straight last night, and I got him to sleep for an extra hour by snuggling with him. Our ultimate goal has been to get him to sleep from 7 pm to 7am and right now we're at 7pm to 5am (unless you count the extra hour of snuggle time, then he slept until 630), so we're getting there! I'm so excited! Just remembering the early days, I'd almost cry when it came to going to bed because I knew I wouldn't get any sleep to now is an amazing difference! I know a lot of people love "Babywise," but I didn't agree with everything that was in there, especially when trying to tie it in with a preemie. But, I would whole heartedly recommend the book "Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child." This book actually goes all the way through adolescence and instilling healthy sleep habits in every age. It's great! Anyway, I'll get off my soap box, but I'm feeling especially well rested today!

Landen's 4 months!

You know what that means! More shots! Poor kiddo, he did so much better the last time. This time he cried like we'd just cut of a limb or something. It did wear him out though. He's now a whopping 11 pounds (not too bad from starting at 4.7). He's still spitting up tons, but now that we've got the ok to start giving him solids, hopefully that will help some. If not, they also gave us a prescription to try, but we wanted to try the solids first. Cross your fingers everyone!

We've taken a picture with this bear every month to compare his progress, so that's why this picture was thrown in there. The bear is 8 inches long in case you were wondering.

Big boy Landen now with his tiny bear!

I can see, it's a miracle!

So, this is pretty sad, but I hadn't changed my glasses prescription in 10 years...that's right, 10 years! It was time. When the doctor checked my prescription with my old glasses, I was seeing 20/30 out of my right eye and 20/60 out of my left...yes, I'm very blind. You know it's bad when the doctor asks whether you've considered laser surgery before...duh! I'm just not made of money right now, maybe someday. Anyhow, we opted to purchase new glasses this year...hooray. Now I can see when I get up in the middle of the night. In the future, I don't plan on being this neglectful of my eyes!

Our almost daily workout

Need I say more?!

Quick Holiday Catch Up

So, as some of you may know, I was lucky enough to get to work Christmas Day, the day after, New Year's Eve and Day...freakin awesome! That's what I get for having a baby 6 weeks earlier than planned, and instead of having all the holidays off, I get to work the majority of them....lucky me! Anyway, enough gripes. However, we were able to have a nice Christmas Eve dinner, and that evening, my first present came in the form of work calling to tell me that I didn't have to come in until noon (instead of 6 am). So, we were able to have a nice dinner, watch some more of Lord of the Rings, open a Christmas Eve present and watch the Nativity Story video.
We woke up Christmas morning at 7 when Landen woke up and had fun opening presents. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures from that because we used the video camera instead. Anyway, we made the traditional eggs benedict (from my side of the family) for breakfast and enjoyed the rest of the morning until I had to go to work. When I got home we had yummy ice cream cake for my birthday, and I was informed that for my birthday I get to pick out a new bedding set for our bed...yeah! (It's already been ordered...Oh and a side note, linens n things is going out of business, so there are some major sales going on right now).
On the 26th after I got off work, we weathered the nasty roads and drove down to Utah. We got there by midnight, and crashed at my parents house. It was so nice spending time away from Rexburg and seeing family. Landen got to meet some of his cousins, and we got to meet our nephew for the first time. It's amazing how much a difference 2 months can make, especially if your baby is a preemie! While down in Utah, we were also able to meet up with an old roommate from back in Kansas and we also hit up the outlet mall in Park City...loved it, but Brian's not a huge fan of shopping. The only thing we didn't get to do while down there was make it to Temple Square to see the lights, but there's always next year ;). We drove back up to Rexburg on the 30th since I had to work the next day. Our New Year's was kind of lame since I had to work the next day (again), I think I was in bed and asleep by 10 pm. Oh, and to give a shout out to Brian who's been so great about getting up with Landen at night when I have to work the next day...I've really missed getting a WHOLE night's sleep. Anyway, that's our holiday in a nutshell. We're really hoping to go back to Kansas next Christmas (since that was the plan for this Christmas). School starts up again next week, and I am officially part time!
