This is getting ridiculous!!!!!

My poor baby boy has literally been sick for 3 months! Our most recent adventures included going to the doctor last Friday because his cough had gotten worse. They put him on antibiotics, some steroids and we've been continuing with his nebulizer treatments. Well, he woke up this morning and was burning up! His temperature was 101.9! I new high for him, sadly. It just doesn't make sense because he's been on antibiotics for the last 5 days...apparently not solving the problem. I'm pretty sure he also has a sore throat because my little man that loves food could only muster half of his cereal down, and kinda fussed the whole time. And, to top it off, Brian's sick too! It looks like my days off from work and taking care of sick people is not going to be a day off! My poor boys. I promise to post something a little more upbeat later, because I did have an awesome weekend!

7 Months!

It's crazy as every month passes, how quickly it's all going. In another 5 months, Landen will be a year old...where did it go? I know, I say that all the time. I just love this little boy. I love to make him laugh and he's really good at making me laugh. He's rolling around like a crazy person, and getting very inventive at getting to his toys (pulling his body by grabbing the leg of a chair). I'm sure it's only a matter of time before he's figured out how to crawl. He sits up mostly on his own, he'll still lose his balance and fall from side to side, but I'm amazed at how strong he's gotten. He's fascinated with BJ and BJ has become very patient with him and will let him tug on his face and ears. He still loves the television and computer...definitely a Royer ;). He just wants to learn about everything...and stick it in his mouth if he can. Still no teeth, but they way he's teething, it's only a matter of time.

LLLOOONNNGGG UPDATE...BE WARNED

Where have we been?! Since the weather's been warming up, we've been enjoying being outside more...especially BJ. Actually, Landen doesn't really enjoy the sunlight in his face, but we're going to get him used to it darn it! A couple weekends ago (conference weekend), we finally had nice enough weather to go for a walk as a family down to the park. It was so great! Landen got his first experience in the swings at the park, and BJ realized how out of shape he was after sitting indoors all winter long. A few rounds of fetch wore him out, until he saw some kids he could chase of course (don't worry, no children were harmed in this adventure!).
Cute little man, enjoying the swings. Oh, and BJ had to get in the shot too!

Brian & BJ playing fetch.
Also, Brian completed his Associates of Nursing last Friday (the hard part), so we went to his pinning on Thursday evening. He chose not to walk, because he wants to wait for his bachelor's, so that's why there's no cap and gown pictures. There were some pretty funny stories told about the students with their patients, including one of Brian with a flasher patient...It's much funnier told in person, and could quite possibly bore some of you because it might be categorized under "nurse humor". I'm very proud of Brian and all his hard work he put into that program. Now, the even harder part is turning out to find a job since everything in southeast Idaho is on a hiring freeze, and there's really not much available in Utah either. He's just going to start applying everywhere and hope something will pop up. In the mean time, I'm picking up more shifts and trying to sell more Lia Sophia (so if any one's interested in hosting a show, or just ordering, let me know!), so we don't totally deplete our savings! We know that the Lord will help him/us to find the right opportunity that is needed for us.

Brian waiting for his name to be called. The newly called apostle, Elder Andersen was there, and Brian got to shake his hand after getting "pinned" (he didn't really get pinned, it's just a nursing tradition).

Wahoo! We did it...but no smiling for the camera!

Family photo...not the best, but we'll take it.
Then, Friday after I got off work, we drove down to Utah to spend the weekend with family for Easter. We tried to accommodate everyone by staying at my parents so Grandma and Grandpa could see Landen, and spent the days with Brian's family. It was so nice seeing everyone and having all the little cousins together to get to know each other a little better. We drove back home on Monday so that I could work on Tuesday...short trips are WAY too short!

We found the solution to Landen's issues with the sun while in Utah. These sunglasses were 2 for $5 at The Children's Place. So, of course we got 2. He loves them, and will actually keep them on his face. He also doesn't try to hide under the blanket when he's wearing them!

We also got to see our buddies Shawn, Quinci and Caleb who happened to be in town the same weekend. Sad that we didn't get any pics with Shawn and Quinci, but here's one of Caleb being super patient with Landen and letting him sit on his lap in the stroller. He even cheesed if for the camera. Landen's just trying to grab Quinci's pretty shiny ring! That's my boy ;)

We had Easter dinner over at Amy's house. Here's pictures of all the yummy food! We also decorated eggs, and there was an Easter egg hunt (which Landen slept through).

A picture of Autumn and aunt "Mamy". She was so cute pulling all of her mom's credit cards out. She already knows how to spend them!

Landen meeting his cute little cousin Gavin...Gavin's 7 weeks old and really not that much smaller than Landen. They were so cute just looking at each other.

The New Fav

This kid constantly cracks me up! His new favorite thing to do is eat his bare toes. He won't even think about it when his socks are on (he'll actually try to pull them off), but when his little piggies are free it's game on! It was so funny the first time he tried to eat them, he just started giggling, because it had always been a game with us to touch his feet to his nose. Now, he just found a new thing to stick in his mouth. He's so funny!

Caught red handed
Hopefully this doesn't indicate a future as a male cheerleader (or "athletic supporter" as we used to call them ;)
