Tonsilitis!!!!!

SERIOUSLY!!!!! How much more can this poor kid take...I should be careful what I ask! So he's had a croupy (sp?) cough this past week and an obvious sore throat that we thought was just from croup, but when I talked to my sister yesterday and found out she was being treated for strep throat, and had seen Landen last week, we decided it was time to get him into the doctor. Sure enough, the poor kid has tonsillitis. But, at least that can be treated with antibiotics and he doesn't just have to suffer through it! I guess I shouldn't be surprised since he was a preemie, and after all, his mom has pneumonia 3 times by the age of 1...he was doomed! He's still a stud though, and you wouldn't know he was sick except for his poor hoarse voice and lack of wanting to take his bottle...poor dude!

Where we've been

It's been kinda busy around here the past couple of weeks, and of course I don't have any pictures to share to prove it. First off, we started remodeling on our house...lots of work being done. We're adding on a bathroom to our room remodeling the other one, getting a new roof (since a recent windstorm blew shingles off!), getting new windows, and redoing all the plumbing since it's too old. Don't worry, I will eventually add pictures when they get done. So, my house is a disaster right now, and I can't wait to clean it again! Then, aunt Mamy (Amy) came to town and helped out tons while I was working and Brian was "supervising" the people working on the house. It's always so fun having aunt Mamy around, and Landen just loves her! Then, we went down to Utah for the Manti Pageant. Brian had never seen it before, but since I'd grown up down there, I'd been many times before. No matter how many times I've seen it though, it still is so touching and brings tears to my eyes. Oh, and of course what would a pageant be without people protesting something or another about Mormons? Oh, also while we were down there we celebrated Father's Day early (yes, I worked Father's Day too!!!!) with my brother and his family and my parents. We had all chipped in to get Jackstack Barbecue shipped out for the guys....it was soooooooo yummy! I can't wait to go back to KC in September and get some more.

And in other news, Landen is 9 months old....crazy! He's finally rating on a chart now ;). He's in the 1st percentile for weight at 15.6 lbs and the 25th for height at 27.5 inches. My little squirt if finally getting into 6-9 month clothes...woo hoo! At least we're getting longer than 3 months wear out of his clothes. He's the proud owner of 2 bottom teeth which he got in a matter of 5 days apart, poor kido, and still will chew on anything he can get his hands on. I'm sure it kills to get sharp objects poking through poor gums that have never had anything poking through them before. At least we don't remember the whole teething process. He's currently got a runny nose and cough again...so we're back to giving breathing treatments every four hours. The doctor thinks he probably does have baby asthma, but it's usually only brought on by constant jumping. In theory, this type of asthma usually goes away, so hopefully it won't bug him when he's older. He's just gotten into this fighting sleep phase the past couple of days (hopefully just because he's not feeling well), and doesn't even want to take his bottle anymore. We have to practically shove it in his mouth and hold him down (not really, but he definitely knows what he does and doesn't want anymore!). Overall, he's such a happy, babbler boy who can entertain himself for hours...now that he's playing with more interactive toys or the dog (they're best buds). Love that kid

Oh, on a side note, Brian has an interview tomorrow, so keep your fingers crossed for us!!!!

Houston.....

After 4 1/2 months of teething, Landen has finally popped his first tooth! And, boy do we know it. He's been extra crabby today, of course going to church always throws off his whole sleeping schedule, so that could be part of it too. We're thinking about 3 more teeth are coming in very close behind this one, so he could be a very grumpy little boy. I'm gonna miss his toothless big smiles, but I'm excited to see his cute little baby teeth smiles too!

Mobile uploads

Yeah, so this is poor BJ after having 2 operations on his poor ear to try and get it to stop bleeding. Our little Chinese dog!
No, this is not a scene from "Twister", this is actually a wall cloud in Rexburg Idaho of all places!

So, Landen crawled under his walker/bouncer and started getting mad cause he didn't know how to get out! Such a funny boy!

Hanging with the fam

While down in Utah, some of the fam got together to have a graduation celebration for Katie (we basically just got together to eat and chat...love it). Kevin, Tina and their kiddos even came down from Boise. It was so fun seeing everyone and catching up. It's crazy how fast those kids grow!!!! (on a side note, this is my 100th post! sad that it took this long!)
