Trip to the ER

So Landen had to squeeze in one more illness before he turned 1 today. We had been down in Utah for the weekend and were on our way back up yesterday when he started getting a fever. At first we thought he was just teething again, but by 8:30 his fever had not dropped at all and in fact was still climbing even with Motrin and Tylenol. So, we were maxed out on what we could give him and decided to head to the E.R. His temp there was 103.7! So, after giving him more Motrin, doing a chest x-ray, giving him a breathing treatment and swabbing his nose, he came back positive with the flu (no, not swine flu!). As we were waiting for the doctor to come in I looked at the clock and started laughing. Brian was looking at me like I was crazy and finally asked me "what?" I explained that exactly a year ago at that same time, we had come to the hospital because my water unexpectedly broke! I really hope Landen doesn't plan on making this a yearly event!!!! So, my poor boy, instead of celebrating his big day, is trying to catch up on sleep he didn't get last night. We'll party later this week ;)!
