It came true!

Brian showed up last night and surprised me! They sent him back out to Rexburg to pick up more soldiers. He's already gone, but it was so great having him back just for one night...I put him right to work to help me paint the bathroom ;).

Come Back!!!!

So, I know you can't come back until August 5th (stupid military) and we could use the money your making, but I miss the way only you can get Landen to laugh a certain way, the way you and BJ rough house and having a sleeping buddy to keep me warm at night! Yes, you may all feel free to gag now, but there's nothing quite like having to send your husband away for 3 weeks to make you appreciate him a little more.

Cranky 10 months

10 months brings the prospect of soon popping 4 more teeth, hence the crankiness. Plus, he's become the PICKIEST eater! Lately all he wants to eat is sweet food, thank goodness he'll at least eat his fruit. He doesn't want to take a bottle anymore which worries me about him getting dehydrated! So, if anyone has any suggestions on getting a picky eater to eat something more than fruit, PLEASE let me know! I'm hoping this is just a phase he'll grow out of quickly...probably not!

New Windows

So the windows have actually been in since the 3rd of this month, but they had to special order the trim, so that was finally put on last week. I'm just a slacker in posting about it. I don't have a before picture, but they're so AWESOME you don't need one. It's amazing how much a new set a windows helps keep the house so much cooler. Summer is so much more livable!

Blah!

For those of you who have a weak stomach, you might not want to read this!!! So, our weekend adventure consisted of puking, diarrhea and fevers for all....yeah! I haven't thrown up in 5 years, not even when I was pregnant (I know, some of you are hating me right now), so needless to say, I don't really have a weak stomach. I first started feeling sickly at work on Saturday around noon, and at first thought it was just a gallbladder attack (they suck in case you've never experienced one). Anyway, I stayed at work, but by 4:30, after checking a patient's blood sugar (which the sight of blood and the smell made me nauseated for the first time in my life), I quickly ran out of my patient's room to the closest empty room and puked my guts out...gross! Strangely they sent me home from work. I luckily only threw up one more time that night, but ran a fever and could barely get up to go pee. The fun part is that Brian was in Pocatello for the weekend for military training, so he couldn't come help out. Thank goodness for my sister-in-law Ashley who came over to help with Landen while I wished for relief on the couch. Well, come to find out, Brian started having the exact same symptoms that night and by 2:00 am he also was puking his guts out (he'd been sleeping on the ground in a tent full of other guys and had to drag himself to the closest johnny on the spot, so I can't complain too much). Landen luckily hasn't had a fever, but we're thinking he's they "typhoid Mary" if you will, because he's had diarrhea since last Friday, been more spitty, but not puking and even the babysitters got the same bug. I'm seriously feeling sorry for this kid, if it's not one thing it's another. If you survive childhood, you can survive anything I've decided. We're all back to mostly normal today and hopefully Landen will stop spreading the love around!

The 4th...finally!!!

Our day started out early with a pancake breakfast with our ward. They put Brian in charge of the little flag ceremony that they do every 4th and I even got to help. They recognized all the men/women in our ward that had served or are currently serving in the military, which surprisingly ended up being quite a big number. I got to hold up the marine flag as the names of the marines were read. We then has yummy pancakes made by the bishopric, and someone made an orange cream syrup that was DELISH and I'm still need to find out who made it so I can get the recipe...yum yum!
Landen chillin' waiting for the flag ceremony to start.

Lining up for the pancakes!

We then headed down to the parade, which I'd never been too, I know, sad! BJ even came along.

Landen with his Met Life fan, which he was more interested in than the parade!

Trying to figure out how to get out of his stroller.

We went down to Idaho Falls for their awesome fireworks and found a spot along the river right across from the temple...gorgeous!

Bored and waiting for the fireworks.
Still bored

Getting tired. He stayed awake for about half the fireworks then zonked out. He didn't even cry, so I was impressed!

New Roof

So, the story with the roof, is that the previous owners had made a BIG mistake when they put a new roof on. They had covered up all the venting so that when all the snow came in the winter time, it rotted out the roof to where it was VERY soft in places. About a month ago, a huge windstorm came through Rexburg (about 65 mph wind) and blew shingles off of our roof, which turned out to be a HUGE blessing in disguise because now our homeowners insurance would pay for a new roof! We had already been planning on replacing it, but that is just that much less that we have to fork over from our own pockets!!! So, we got a new roof this week, and the contractor only fell through the old one 1 time (don't worry, he caught himself before he did any major damage to himself!). So, this might not be as exciting for you, but we're sure excited to have a new roof that won't cave in on us in the winter!

Now, we're working on new windows that are all in place, they just need to touch up the trim before I put up pictures of those!
