Gloop

Today, since it was raining pretty much all day, Landen and I decided to make a mess. We made "Gloop". I saw a "recipe" online for it the other day and thought it sounded pretty cool. It totally was! I'm sure many of you have made it before, but I haven't...it was probably more fun for me than Landen. He just kept daintily touching it then wiping it off on his jeans. I think he had more fun helping me stir it in the bowl. What's so cool about it, is that it's liquid looking ("gloopy") when it's just sitting there, but when you try to pick some up in your hands and squeeze it, it becomes hard. Anyway, here's the ingredients for it:

1-2 cups cornstarch
water
food coloring (optional)

Just add the water to get a "gloopy" consistency. So fun!!!

Spring cleaning

In order to get our house ready to put it on the market come January, we have A LOT of yard work to do! So, since today was a beautiful day and most of the snow was melted (again) I went out to attempt trimming my neighbor's bushes that are overflowing over the fence...very annoying (especially since they have thorns). Landen also came out with me and he and BJ had fun playing "fetch" until Landen found something more fun...THE MUD!!! So, I got half of the bushes trimmed before I had to go throw Landen in the tub (and hopefully not have to throw his clothes away)! Here's some pictures of his fun times:

He thinks he can open the door to go out side just because he got ahold of my keys (he loves being outside!)

Until today...

I've hated the month of April! Granted it's only been 7 days so far, but it's been snowing for 5 of those 7 days. We didn't even get to go to an Easter Egg hunt because of the snow (at least we did a mini one with Landen's play group earlier in the week!) But, today was a beautiful 50 degree day! There's just something about the sunshine that makes the grumpiness go away.

At least I have my little best buddy to crack me up and keep things lively! His most recent events include chasing BJ around the house with various objects, trying to beat him with them, all while giggling. He also enjoys putting everything out the dog door (which with the current snow situation, has ruined a couple of books!). He's also obsessed with the toilet for some reason, he used to just enjoy splashing in it, but now he tries to see how many things he can get stuffed in there before he gets caught! Not my favorite place to retrieve things from!
He's also enjoyed the telephone lately. He'll walk around the house with it up to his ear talking away in Chinese to a dial tone. Quite cute! We're just hoping he doesn't figure out how to dial 911, not quite ready for cops to show up at my door (this happened to my neighbor a couple of weeks ago).

So, tomorrow's supposed to be another sunny day, so I'll be out enjoying the sunshine! No more of this stupid weather April Fool's joke!
