Girl's camp

We had Girl's camp this week which I've been planning for about a year now, so it's great to finally have it over! (I feel like I can have my own mind back again). It was a lot of fun and I wish I could bottle those girl's energy! Our theme was B.O.O.T. camp (build our own testimonies), so we had some activities planned around this.

Here we all are in our pink camo shirts before our hike
The National Guard came up to our campsite and set up and inflatable obstacle...soooo fun!

Oh, and this doesn't fit, but this is what Landen's been up to lately, playing in his pool and loving being outside as much as possible!

Absence

Dropped Brian off at the Idaho Falls airport this morning at 6:30. He'll be at Ft. Lewis, WA for 4 weeks! Totally not the same as going to Iraq when we were first married, but still sucks! Landen's really going to miss his daddy too!

Brian's Birthday/Trip to Utah

This is very late in the posting, but we've had a sick kiddo we've been trying to take care of. Poor Landen got his first ear and sinus infection...who knows from where, but he first started getting sick in Utah. Poor kid. I digress! We went down to Utah on Brian's birthday (the 18th) per his request. Here's some photos of the trip.

Grandpa and Landen enjoying Brian's luau themed party
He only turned 29 not 209 ;). I forgot candles, so we took the best we could find.

On Saturday, Landen went to the zoo with his cousins while the boys were playing golf.

Landen loved the giraffes and actually started getting mad and yelling at them when they walked away...funny kid!

On Sunday (father's day), we had a little BBQ for the dads (my brother and his family came up for the event).

By Monday, Landen definitely wasn't feeling good, but we still went down to my brother's house and stayed the night before coming back up on Tuesday (just in time for me to get ready for work). Landen became very attached to Katie's boyfriend Cory...it was pretty funny/cute!

Welcome Home

This is what Brian was welcomed with when he came home this evening from drill in Pocatello.

We must have worn each other out this weekend!

No pictures?

Where have we been? KC!!! Well, first I went down to Utah to help take care of Brian's cousins while his Aunt and Uncle were crusin' Alaska, but then we departed on our all night drive to KC! We were exhausted by the time we got there, but Landen did awesome since he slept most of the trip! We went out for Ben's High School graduation (Brian's baby brother), and sadly we only took pictures from his graduation! So I'll just have to tell you everything else we did ;)

Our first night there we met up with Brian's dad and stayed at a hotel so that we wouldn't have to drive farther south, plus his stepkids really enjoyed playing in the pool (as did Landen). We also went out to dinner at Oklahoma Joe's. I was quite disappointed! I think after everyone had been talking about how amazing it was, I had my standards set too high. I wish we'd gone to Jackstack! (these are both barbecue places, if you know anything about KC, it's that they're famous for their BBQ and everyone has a very strong opinion of their favorites).

The next day we were SUPPOSED to go to a KC Royal's game, but it rained all day (actually it rained the whole time we were there except for 1 day!), so we went to my brother's house and grilled instead and watched the game on TV. Good thing we didn't go, they lost anyway after having a 4 point lead most of the game...so sad.

Sunday was graduation, so other than going to church and graduation, we didn't do much of else. Monday we went to Ben's senior recital then had his open house with TONS of yummy food than I'm sure they're still trying to eat (35 pounds of pulled pork!). The rest of the time was spent hanging out with family and good friends until we left again for our overnight trip. Sorry this has been such a long post, but to end here are my favorite places to eat that we can't find here in good old Idaho:

1. Jackstack (we have ordered it online)

2. Mr. Goodcents (yummy sub sandwiches)

3. Sheridan's (frozen custard)

4. Panera Bread (nothing compares!)

Yellowstone

We went to Yellowstone last week and only took one picture!
