Are we there yet?

Where have we been? Oh, moving to San Antonio, TX ;). We left Rexburg on July 29th and headed down to Utah for a few days before we left for the 3 days of travel to San Antonio on August 3rd. While we were down in Utah, we tried to spend as much time as possible with family since we're not sure when we'll be back up there anytime soon! So, on Saturday we spent the day with Brian's side of the family on temple square and had a BBQ at his uncle's house. Landen had never been to temple square, and he had fun hanging out with his cousins and seeing the large Christ's statue. It had been awhile since I had been there too, so it was nice to see all the beauty the the church has kept in the midst of such a busy city. Here's a few pictures:

A quick family picture (you can see Abrie's bow poking out of the top of her carrier)

Everyone just mingling around ;)

I unfortunately didn't take any pictures of hanging out with my family, but we had a little get together at my parent's house. It's so sad how much Landen has been asking to go home. He even had my keys and was trying to unlock the front door with them saying "go home mom". Sadness. It would probably make a difference if we actually had our stuff in our house down here, but because we weren't here on the day it arrived, it was put in storage. It got here on the day we were "allowed" to leave by the military! Because this is the busy time for moving with the military, and there are 3 different military bases here, they can't get our stuff to us until the 17th!!! So, we've been camping out in our house. Our rental manager brought us over a bucket of basic supplies for the kitchen so we can at least cook some meals and not have to eat out all the time, thankfully. I'm going to be so sad tomorrow when my sister has to leave tomorrow! She came out with us to help with the drive since we were taking two cars and needed help with the kids, especially Abrie. I'm going to miss her tons! She's totally my best bud and we always get each other laughing like no one else can. Other posts of what we've been up to will follow

2 Months

So besides these being really horrible picture quality since they're from my phone, I love that I finally caught some pictures of my little bug smiling!

We took her to the doctor for her 2 month check-up and she is doing awesome! The relieving thing about it, is that even if I don't feel like I'm producing enough milk, what I am producing (with an occasional supplement of formula), is enough for her! Her stats are:

Weight: 10.75 lbs (48%)

Height: 22.5 inches (55%)

Head Circ: 15 inches (32%)

Oh, and who could forget the horrific experience of giving a 2 month old 5 immunizations in 1 day (seriously, is that good on anyone, let a lone a tiny baby?!). Here's the result:

103 degree fever! It was a long night! I totally should have given her Tylenol before, but I completely forgot. Landen didn't have this reaction, but at least I knew it was the immunizations and not a sick kid.

Chukars Game

So Friday night we went to a good old baseball game, while everyone one else in the world was watching Harry Potter. We're trying to go do some of the things we're going to miss about southeast Idaho. Yes, I'm going to miss some things here ;). Considering I've lived in Rexburg 9 of the 12 years I've been out of High School, I've grown accustomed to the place! I'll miss the simple small town feel and the friendliness. I'll miss my job I've been at the last 6 years! I really love what I do, and who I work with. We've got good friends we're leaving behind, and moving on from the "college" days and into "real life" is going to be quite and adjustment. Anyway, here's some pictures from the baseball game (oh, and the Chukars are own by our very own KC Royals...they wear a KC patch on their jersey!).

I love the annoyed "hurry up and take my picture" look on Landen-man's face!

Adorable father and daughter enjoying the game

There's the little princess herself wearing her pj's and wishing all the noise would stop so she could sleep.

"Oh, hey mom, I'm just gonna watch the game from down here"

This is pretty much what he did the whole game. He did make friends with the people behind us, and they went and got Charlie the bird Chukar mascot to autograph a baseball for him. He was too afraid of him to go himself! Ahhh, my fearless, fearful boy ;)

Our "Baldy"

I have always wanted to buzz my boy's head, even before I was married and was even planning on babies. I've been talking to Brian about it for about a month, and Brian finally did it one day while I was sleeping after working all night! It was a cute surprise, and I love rubbing his head. It's funny, because now we'll catch him rubbing his own head without thinking about it!

Comparisons

I was looking at some old pictures of Landen today, and realized how much my two kids look alike. They've always looked so different, at least as I remembered it, but looking back at pictures was quite a shock! Enjoy:

Landen his first day home from the hospital (almost 1 month old). Abrie pulls this same face when she's passed out!
Abrie, 1 day old in the hospital, getting ready to go home. Her nose is definately bigger than Landens.

Landen's first bath at home (agian about 1 month old)

Abrie's first "soaking" bath at home, about 2 weeks old

Why don't I have the time?

Seriously! I knew adding another child into the family would create a big change in the day to day rituals, but I didn't expect it to be THIS much of a change! I forgot how much needier babies are, and didn't expect my almost 3 year old to become even MORE needier than he already was! Apparently I'm an idiot! I miss my old routine when I had time to CLEAN my house, workout, spend time on lavish meals and for heavens sake be able to TAKE A SHOWER! I feel like such an idiot for not being able to figure out how to do this, especially when I take care of people for a living. I can't wait for Abrie to get into a more defined routine so that I can plan a day! On another note, I'm so grateful for my sweet husband who took care of the kiddos while we were down in Utah so that I could go get a pedicure with my mom and sister. It was heaven, and my feet feel so much better (I feel extremely bad for the little Asian woman who had to "scrape" my nasty heels!).

Oh, and I didn't get a single picture from the 4th! NOT ONE! I got a couple on my phone from the night before when we went to my brother's house to do some fireworks, but that's it. I had a bad night with Abrie the night of the 3rd because she was so stinking hot and couldn't sleep, so Brian let us sleep in and we barely got up in time to make it to the parade. That's about as patriotic as we got that day! Landen fell asleep as soon as he got back in the car and slept for 4 hours, so we ordered in some Famous Dave's (so not as good as KC BBQ), and watched some movies. Landen didn't enjoy the fireworks at my brother's house, so we didn't even go to the big firework show and opted to give Landen a good night sleep instead. I'm sad we didn't get any pictures of Abrie in her cute 4th of July outfit my mom bought her, and none of all of us in our cheesy Old Navy t-shirts, so we might have to re-enact it soon.

In the meantime, I need to start finding the time to go through the house and get rid of stuff! The movers will be here on the 26th of this month!!! It's coming quickly, and I'm so not ready. We don't even have an idea of where we're going to live yet! It will work out, I know, I just need to figure out how to be more OCD like Kate Gosling and organize my day better.

Here's one of the movies we watched on the 4th....amazing!
